Light up the Night- November 21-24th, 2019

This four-day event captures all of the tradition, heritage and charm of a good old fashioned Christmas Festival. Each year the festival is growing in size and scope, with fantastic activities including the Annual, Tim Horton’s Santa Claus Parade and a Tree Lighting Ceremony to kick off the holiday season. This year there will be several new surprises so be sure to check this website early and often for updates.

To celebrate the season, you are invited to visit participating businesses to track down the location of a Buddy the Elf cut out in each business.  Find him, get a stamp and receive enough stamps to enter our draw for a gift box of goodies.  This promotion will having you smiling like Buddy from November 21 – December 1.

Warm up at the LMC and peruse the many vendors who will have their very best products for sale.  A wide variety of local food and seasonal crafts is available; a perfect time to stock up for the holidays, or shop for unique gifts!

Santa’s Workshop

4 p.m. – 10 p.m.- Lacombe Memorial Centre

This is new and exciting shopping experience for your littles, 12 and under. Thanks to partnerships with several Lacombe businesses and the volunteers with Lacombe Pathfinders, your children can enjoy a chance to shop for someone special in their lives. From mom and dad to brothers and sisters, and even their favourite furry friend. All gifts are $10 and under, and with the help of Lacombe’s Pathfinder troop your child will be able to maintain the Christmas surprise.

Roving Carollers

Local Carollers performing classic Christmas Carols.  An old tradition renewed that is sure to warm the heart.

Fire Dancers

Check out a performance or two while you are waiting for the parade to arrive!  Dancers use a range of fiery props and even do some fire breathing!

That’s not a typo!  Cranna Lake will be set aglow with a spectacular fireworks display set against a wintery backdrop.  The lake should be frozen by then, so we should be able to allow some skating and tobogganing – weather permitting, of course.
