Join us for the 9th Annual Culture & Harvest Festival.

The Lacombe Culture and Harvest Festival is an annual festival that celebrates agricultural heritage and showcases the arts & culture of our lively, vibrant and diverse community.  The festival runs in conjunction with National Culture Days and Alberta Culture Days, September 25-27, 2020, and features 30+ activities and events. This year we are excited to offer a series of online Craft and Cultural Cooking Tutorials as part of the festival. Lacombe and County Cultural Cookbook 

Contest

Due to the wonderful response we’ve received of our Cultural Cooking series during The Lacombe Culture and Harvest Festival, Lacombe Regional Tourism and Aztec Engineering have decided to sponsor a contest for Lacombe Region cooks to submit their favourite cultural recipes to form a digital cookbook. Send all files to events.lacombetourism@gmail.com.

  1. All recipes are to be submitted in a Word document.
  2. Submit a picture of your finished dish (required) and a picture of yourself if you’re comfortable (optional).
  3. In 50 words or less tell us why this recipe is special to you, ie: family favourite, great potluck dish, is a staple dinner in your culture or for special occasions.
  4. Can be a main dish or a dessert.
  5. All recipes submitted will be eligible for the $100 Gift Certificate Draw to a regional business of the winner’s choice.
  6. Not all submitted recipes will be included in the book in the event of space or multiple submissions of the same recipes.
  7. Submitted recipes will become the property of Lacombe Regional Tourism to be used for promotional purposes or local non profit fundraising opportunities.

  1. Faces of the Murals- find the mural that has the face in the clue then take your picture beside the mural and direct message via Facebook it to Tourism. If you are correct your name will be entered in a free draw for a chance to win a $100 gift card. Join one of the guided mural tours for help in finding the faces.
  2. Historic Building Match- Match the historic building pictured in the clue with the current building/business and take a picture beside it. Submit via direct message on Facebook and if correct your name will be entered for a $100 gift card. Join one of the guided historic building tours to figure out the clues and learn more about Lacombe’s history.

Build a Scarecrow and showcase it in your yard or business the week and weekend of Culture and Harvest Festival, then take a picture with your scarecrow and submit it either as a comment on the event post or via Facebook Messenger to Tourism.
