12:00 pm: The Central Alberta Foodgrains Charity Harvest BBQ
Location: Our field is located at the junction of Range Road 26-2 and Township Road 40-2. ( 10 minutes southeast of Lacombe). From Lacombe, go east on Highway 12 to Range Road 26-2 and turn right on the gravel road. Proceed to Township Road 40-2, and turn left and it is the first farm on the north side. Fee: Free Watch our volunteer farmers harvest our wheat crop, with all proceeds going to help the hungry in the world. Bring your lawn chair. Includes free BBQ. Location: LMC Centennial Hall Fee: Free Play is absolutely essential to the healthy development of children and families. Join us at our Children’s Fair. Families with young children are invited to come and play. The fair includes a free children’s concert by Mary Lambert at 3pm. This event is hosted by the Lacombe County Early Childhood Development Coalition.
1pm-3pm: 2014 Alberta Spirit Show Closing Ceremony

1pm-4pm: Sheep Shearing and Wool Spinning Demo

On site will be a shearing judge who will take you through the process of how to judge the quality of a fleece. 2:30pm: Lumber Sawing
Location: Ag Grounds Fee: Free The LA Vintage Machinery Club will start up their 1950′s mill (powered by a tractor) to demonstrate how logs are milled into rough lumber.
1:30pm-3:30pm: The Art of Fermenting
Location: Wolf Creek Community Church Fee: $30 Registration Fee. Registration deadline September 20th Sponsored by The Green Pantry – “Preserving your harvest with lacto fermentation” – Presented by Brenda Barritt Looking for simple, healthy ways to preserve vegetables, Brenda Barritt fell ‘down the rabbit hole’ into the world of fermenting. Her home pantry includes a variety of ferments including sauerkrauts, pickles, drinks, fruits, dairy and more! This session will cover the basics of getting started with lacto fermenting vegetables, demonstrating both a brine pickle and a dry-salt ferment (like sauerkraut).”
